Red Cross Blood Drives
Provide an easy way for temple members to donate blood
-Blood drive was March 3, 2004 at Temple Menorah
Feeding the Needy
in conjunction with local churches. On the fifth Tuesday of the month temple members prepare and serve food to the needy at a local church.

Family Promise
Family Promises supports up to 12 newly homeless families by sheltering them in local churches/homes while helping them get back on their feet. Temple Menorah supports American Martyr's in its twice a year hostings by bringing dinner, providing companionship in the evening, or staying the night.

Habitat for Humanity Jewish Coalition
In 2022 Habitat will be building homes in Long Beach. When it is safe we hope to support this effort.

Children's Law Center of California (CLCC)
CLCC provides services for all foster children in Los Angeles. e support their school supply and holiday toy drives.

​2024 MMD Successes

Collected over 500 food items
-
Food items were sorted in 60 bags to provide groceries for food insecure children
-
Prepared a delicious homemade meal of meat loaf, mashed potatoes, salad, & cookies
-
Served the meal to the 40 homeless residents of the Torrance Village Center

Leftover food was donated to Project Needs, another homeless program
-
35 donors provided 34 pints of blood, 12 over our goal.Each pint can save up to 3 lives.

The Temple property was cleaned up and beautified

The cantor and a small choir serenaded residents of a local nursing home
